New Concrete Steps to MUGA Pitch at School
Project Overview
East Herts Surfacing has been busy carrying out improvement works at a school, including the installation of new concrete steps leading to the MUGA pitch and an extension to the existing steps.
A MUGA is a Multi-Use Games Area, used by schools for different sports and activities. The new steps are being installed to provide strong and practical access between the school grounds and the MUGA pitch.
Scope of Works
The work involves creating new concrete steps while also extending the existing steps to improve access around the site. The different ground levels required careful preparation before the new concrete sections could be installed.
The works include:
- Preparing the ground for the new steps
- Building wooden frames for the concrete
- Installing new concrete steps to the MUGA pitch
- Extending the existing steps
- Installing concrete landings
- Connecting the new steps with the surrounding access areas
The new concrete sections have been formed to provide a strong and long-lasting route. The steps and landings also create a clearer connection between the school buildings and the MUGA pitch.
Challenges & Solutions
The school grounds have several different levels, so the new steps needed to fit correctly into the existing layout. Our team carefully prepared each area and constructed the steps to follow the changes in ground level.
The extension to the existing steps was also built to connect neatly with the current access. This provides a more practical route while keeping the new and existing sections working together.
Project Progress
The new concrete steps to the MUGA pitch and extension to the existing steps are looking good so far. The main concrete sections are now taking shape, with further surrounding works to complete the area.
Once the project is finished, the school will benefit from strong, durable and practical access to its MUGA pitch, designed to handle regular use by students and staff.
