New Concrete Steps to MUGA Pitch at School
East Herts Surfacing has completed a new set of concrete steps and access improvements leading to a MUGA pitch, including an extension to the existing steps.
The project involved creating durable new access routes between different levels of the site while ensuring the new concrete work integrated effectively with the existing pathways and steps.
Project Overview
The existing layout required improved pedestrian access to the MUGA pitch and surrounding areas. Our team carried out the necessary groundwork before installing new concrete steps, landings and connecting paths.
Part of the project also involved extending the existing steps, providing a more practical connection between the different areas of the site.
New Concrete Steps
The newly constructed steps provide a strong and permanent access solution designed to withstand regular foot traffic.
Concrete was selected for its durability, strength and relatively low maintenance requirements, making it particularly suitable for busy educational and recreational environments.
Connecting Paths & Landings
Alongside the steps, new concrete landings and pathways were installed to create a continuous route through the site.
Careful attention was given to the levels and transitions between the new and existing surfaces, resulting in a clean and practical finished access route.
Extension to Existing Steps
Rather than replacing all of the existing infrastructure, sections of the existing steps were retained and extended with new concrete construction.
The new sections have been positioned alongside the existing steps to improve the overall layout while making effective use of the site’s existing features.
Groundworks & Finishing
The surrounding ground was prepared and reinstated following the concrete installation, leaving the area ready for the next stage of landscaping and finishing works.
Drainage channels and edging around the access areas were also incorporated into the overall layout to help create a neat and functional finish.
