Machine-Laid Road Surfacing in Chelmsford
East Herts Surfacing recently completed a substantial roadway surfacing project in Chelmsford, delivering a fresh, durable surface using 10mm Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA). The works were carried out using specialist surfacing machinery to provide an efficient installation and a consistent finish across the roadway.
The project involved the supply and installation of approximately 180 tonnes of 10mm SMA. Machine laying allowed the material to be distributed evenly across the working area while maintaining the required levels, thickness and surface consistency throughout the roadway.
Careful control during the laying process was essential to achieve a uniform surface. Following installation, the newly laid asphalt was thoroughly compacted to create a strong, smooth and hard-wearing finish suitable for regular vehicle traffic.
