Surfacing Works at LondonEnergy, Edmonton
We recently completed a programme of surfacing works at LondonEnergy in Edmonton, North London, restoring sections of the existing roadway to provide a durable, smooth and hard-wearing finish suitable for an active industrial environment.
Project Overview
The works involved planing out 40mm of the existing surface in the required areas before preparing the sections for resurfacing. Careful preparation ensured the new material could be laid cleanly against the existing carriageway and surrounding kerbs.
Following preparation, we relayed 40mm of 10mm SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) to the treated sections.
40mm Planing Works
The existing road surface was planed to a depth of approximately 40mm, removing the worn material and creating a suitable base for the new surface course.
Accurate planing was particularly important around the existing kerbs, edges and adjoining surfacing to achieve neat transitions between the new and existing areas.
10mm SMA Surface Course
Once preparation was complete, the areas were resurfaced with 40mm of 10mm SMA.
Stone Mastic Asphalt provides a robust surface suitable for locations exposed to regular vehicle movements and demanding operational conditions. The newly laid sections provide a consistent, durable finish while integrating with the surrounding existing roadway.
Working Within an Operational Industrial Site
The project was carried out within the LondonEnergy site in Edmonton, requiring the surfacing works to be completed efficiently and with consideration for the surrounding infrastructure and ongoing site activity.
The photographs show the newly resurfaced sections alongside the existing carriageway, with clean edges and a consistent finish throughout the completed areas.
